It is of the utmost importance to me that each student feels inspired to play, and thus can unlock their unique potential. To that end, I tailor lessons to the goals and interests of each individual. Depending on the style we're working on, I generally assign a mixture of exercises and music; the balance between the two varies with the student's strengths and aims. I also often incorporate larger-scale musical and guitaristic ideas into our discussions, so the student always has an awareness of how week-to-week learning builds to permanent knowledge and skill. Throughout, I keep in mind and cultivate the student's passion for the instrument and share my own!
